Head of Finance – Philippines

Join a Finance Company that will accurately report the financial position of the company for various parties and others who may have a vested interest in the financial activity and health of the company.
Position: Head of Finance
Reporting To: President

Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide the focal point for advice and technical expertise in financial management, including the development of policies and procedures
• Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with statutory requirements and best practices
• Manage the budgeting processes to monitor, control, approve and evaluate costs, revenues and cash flows
• Create reports and variance analyses
• Engage in ongoing cost reduction analyses in all areas of the company
• Review the performance of competitors and report on key issues to management
• Assist in determination of product pricing in relation to features offered and competitor pricing
• Continuously improving financial processes and identifying and enhancing efficiencies in processes
• Ensuring compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures, including coordinating audits and acting as primary contact for auditors and advisors
• Maintain key relationships with banks, auditors and other third parties
• Establish key performance indicators and monitor ongoing performance
• Develop policies, standards, and guidelines in respect of accounting procedures concepts and methodologies
• Provide leadership and management to the business unit, within the scope of the position’s responsibilities
• Always maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to portray a positive manner
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, Qualities/Values)

• Sound knowledge of taxation and commercial laws, including local GAAP and taxation regulations
• Familiarity with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards)
• Excellence in Management Accounting (including knowledge of sophisticated corporate financial forecasting techniques)
• Knowledge of business commerce law

• Talent to develop pragmatic solutions and to present complex issues clearly
• Experience using ERP systems (SAGE or others) in operation
• Professional usage of MS software
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Excellent written and verbal communications in English and key languages of the Philippines
• Humility, honesty, loyalty, flexibility
• Team player
• Good communication skills, multiple cultural and cross function communication skills
• Leadership and negotiation capabilities
